The tools are humming, the laughs are flowing and the projects are flying out the door - Martinborough Mens Shed is a hub of community, connection and creating with your hands.
Open Wednesdays and Saturdays 9am to 12pm you'll find them at 20 Cork street Martinborough in the old courthouse. The building has had some significant re working to make it the perfect hub to spend time with likeminded folks who enjoy making, repairing, and rebuilding anything from a busted banister to your backyard weed whacker.
Walking through the main building you can see the various projects and woodworking tools strategically placed throughout. If you arrive during smoko simply follow the sounds of yarns and tea brewing to the kitchen where you can make a cuppa and join in!
Walking out to the back of the building there is a purpose built, double shipping container shed structure with everything from the lathe tools to more engineering focused equipment. But dont let us bore you with all this chat head on down and check it out for yourself!
Not only do the team at the Mens Shed complete projects for local groups like Aorangi Restoration Trusts penguin - nesting boxes but they can offer help with repairing and restoring household items that would otherwise be thrown away. If you have something around the house that needs repair and no idea how to do it head down and ask the team, they have a wide range of skills and can offer some ideas if not get it sorted for you!
